11.01. TALKING IMAGES | Photography Lecture Series

Ann-Christin Bertrand (C/O Berlin): Guest lecture BACK IN TOUCH on curatorial practice and "Thinking about Photography".

Titled TALKING IMAGES, the BA in Photography programme starts a public lecture series, during which experts talk about (photographic) images and their media in the context of current topics which include art, culture and research.

On Thursday, January 11th, 2018 at 7 pm, Prof. Sebastian Denz, head of the course, will open the new lecture series with the first guest speaker and curator of the C/O Berlin Foundation:

Ann-Christin Bertrand | BACK IN TOUCH

"As a non-profit foundation, C/O Berlin must think very differently than public museums about its programme and working structure. I will present the special features and the thinking behind C/O Berlin and also shed light on questions about the future of photographic institutions. Afterwards I will give an insight into my own curatorial practice, especially with regard to our Thinking about Photography format, and use the current exhibition of Torbjorn Rodland, BACK IN TOUCH, as an opportunity to reflect on questions about the role of the single image or the photographic series.".  (Ann-Christin Bertrand)

Students and teachers of all courses of study, as well as, the public are cordially invited!
