BA Photographic Design


An interview and the presentation of a portfolio with about 15 to 20 of your works is required for application. We avoid giving any thematic guidelines. The portfolio must include a CV which provides insight into your individual creative development. You should also include a written proposal outlining your work and processes. A general university entrance qualification (e.g. secondary school diploma) or other proof of professional qualifications and experience in accordance with section 11 of the Berlin legislation governing higher education (BerlHG) is an entry prerequisite. If you are unable to come in for an interview, you have the option of sending us your work via the internet.

Funding

the degree

The costs of the BA Photographic Design program are covered by tuition fees. The fees are €4,140 per semester, or €690 per month if paid in monthly rates. There is one-time registration fee of €200. All examination fees are already included in the tuition fees. The B.A. programs are recognized by the German Law on Support for Education and training (BAföG.) Students can apply for educational loans from banks as well as from the Reconstruction Credit Institute (KfW) to fund their studies. A discounted student ticket for the Berlin public transport system (VBB) is included, in accordance with the conditions of the VBB. The design akademie berlin regularly awards full scholarships.
