BA Communication Design

Here is some information about design akademie berlin admission requirements and about funding.

The application procedure involves a personal colloquium and the submission of a portfolio comprising around 20 of your own designs. We deliberately avoid specifying particular topics. Your portfolio and CV should give an insight into your personal creative development. You should add a written commentary on the work and your approach to it.
Admission requirements are the general qualification for university entrance (Abitur) or for entrance to a University of Applied Sciences or proof of professional qualifications/experience in accordance with Section 11 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act). If you are unable to take part in the personal colloquium, you may submit your work online.

Summer and Winter Semester

Applications may be submitted at any time. The deadline for applications for the summer semester is 15 March (semester start: 1st April), for the winter semester 15 September (semester start: 1st October). Funding

your course in Communication Design

The cost of BA Communication Design is covered by student fees. The current tuition fee for each semester is € 4,140. The fee may be paid monthly (€ 690 per month) on agreement.
A one-off matriculation fee of € 200 is payable on registration. All examination fees are included in the tuition fees. BA programmes are recognised by BaföG (German federal financial student support). Students may also apply to banks or to the KfW bank for educational loans.
Terms and conditions for reduced-price semester tickets for local transport run by the VBB are in accordance with VBB tariff conditions.
The design akademie berlin regularly awards full scholarships.
