The photo exhibition "einfach einfach" shows eight works by students of the bachelor study course Photography of the design academy berlin. The photo series are results of the 5th semester of the modules "Conceptual Photography" by Prof. Sebastian Denz and Nica Junker as well as "Exhibition Design" by Franziska Ritter.
The exhibition will be officially opened at 7 pm on April 11, 2019 at a vernissage.
In their works, the students deal with the subject of simplicity, both photographically and in their spatial staging, and have developed individual positions for this:
In her series "The beauty I see in the world I picture", Antonia Reiter questions the construct of the notion of beauty and its banality, while Alina Bücher examines the meaning of scars in her work and shows them in greatly enlarged close-ups. In his work "The search for something true", Martin de Crigni's stereoscopic male nude reveals itself detached from sexual connotation and approaches a picture of the man who lives up to the 21st century. "Ansichtssache" by Henrike Grützner plays in terms of content with different word meanings and levels of perception, while technically the photographs are inflated with Computer Generated Imagery. Carolin Windloff modifies the word "simple" to "a subject" and shows spatial-photographic illusions that oscillate between being and appearance. In her series "Simplifying", Chantal Manzi Kind sheds light on the topic of minimalization on the basis of her own home. In the work "Strobotionen", Pascal Krause captures emotions with the help of stroboscopic photography and underlines the multifaceted nature of human facial expressions. In the series "Belongingness", Janina Van Riet uses polaroids to document various forms of belonging and stage them in a performative setting.
